Larry Lee Dexter

Larry Dexter, 65 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the Sanford Medical Center.

Larry Lee Dexter, son of Eldon and Evelyn (Anderson) Dexter, was born on August 14, 1947, in Flandreau, SD. He grew up in and around the Elkton, SD, area.

Larry was united in marriage with Donna Rae Erickson on August 12, 1967. Larry worked in Truck Driving for All American in 1973. In 1978, Larry began a career driving truck with Dizco Inc. until retiring in 2009, after 32 years of service.

Larry enjoyed playing cards, grilling with his family, enjoying the firepit, and looked forward to the shake of the day at the American Legion. He would drop everything to go and help his children and extended family. Larry liked riding motorcycle and his scooter. He loved watching old westerns or "real" movies as he would call them. He always put his family, friends, and pets first.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Donna Dexter; daughters Brenda Schut and her husband Ray, Laura Raski and her husband Adam; son Eric Dexter and his wife Kendra, all of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother Evelyn Dexter; brothers Dean Dexter, Craig Dexter; sisters Jean Dexter, Lori Jacobson, Dawn Jackson; 6 Grandchildren, Chelsea and Brandon Butcher, Lillian, Auburn, Eldon, and Nolan Dexter; many special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Eldon and sister Judy.

Visitation will begin at 12 pm with the family present from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Elkton City Cemetery, Elkton, SD.
