Leora "Tootie" Marie Hamilton
Leora "Tootie" Marie Hamilton, 81, of Sioux Falls died Thursday, April 24, 2014. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Monday, April 28, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1400 S. Duluth Ave. with interment at Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Family Present Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave. with a Prayer Service beginning at 4:00 PM.
Leora "Tootie" Marie Hamilton was born July 20, 1932 in Alcester, SD to Harry and Marie (Pien) Eden. She grew up in Alcester where she attended Ludwig country school, graduating from Alcester High School. On January 7, 1951 she married Delbert R. Hamilton. They lived in Rapid City for 18 months where she worked for an Implement Company, then moved to Hawarden where she began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in March 1953. In October 1953 they moved to Sioux Falls where she continued her employment with the telephone company. Leora held several positions in Operator Services and at the time of her retirement, she was Manager of Operator Services for AT&T. She retired December 31, 1984. Leora was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the courtesy committee and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Delbert, one sister, Mary Ann Warner, South Sioux City, NE and one brother, Roger Eden, Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Vera and two brothers, Eldon and Loren. www.millerfh.com
