Marlen "Spike" Seaman

Marlen "Spike" Lee Seaman, age 77, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Dougherty Hospice Cottage. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday October 8, 2013 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation with family present will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Marlen was born January 17, 1936 in Russell, MN to L. Jasper and Esther (Wilson) Seaman. He grew up and attended school in Russell, MN. He served his country in the US Navy. He married Shirley Hardies on September 4, 1965 in Pipestone, MN. Shortly after being married, the couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD.

Spike worked for Jay-Shon Chevrolet, 18 years for the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, owned and operated Spike Carpet Cleaning, and spent 10 years at the Sioux Falls City Hall before retiring. He loved wildlife, was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and was famous for his homemade fudge and decorated cookies.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley; daughter, Shelley (Sam) Connelly; grandson, Hudson Connelly; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
