Roland Arlton, 92 of Lennox died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home, Sioux Falls, SD. He was born in 1920 at Mitchell, SD. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University and graduated from Augustana College. He also studied in Oslo, Norway. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge he taught school in Wisconsin, Lennox, Hurley and at Children's Care Hospital and School. In 1946 he married Marie Hanson. The couple had owned and operated a Christian bookstore and pottery studio in Lennox until retirement. Roland was an active member of First English Lutheran Church and had served as church organist for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Marie in 2002 and two daughters, Kristi and Rondi. Survivors: sons Hans Arlton, Minneapolis, MN, Rolf Arlton, Fairfield, IA and Erik Arlton (Lula) Sioux Falls, SD and son-in-law John Eastby, Farmville, VA; and daughters Ingrid Arlton (Larry Putnam), Rapid City, SD and Solvei Stohl (Peter), Kaunas, Lithuania, Nitra Doyle (Pat) Omaha, NE and Elise Hickey (Mike), Lennox, SD and nine grandchildren Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at First English Lutheran Church, Lennox. Visitation for the public will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Online go to dindotklusmann.com
