Ardyce Dorothy Winter, age 90, was born on October 4, 1922, in Melvin, IA, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Phillip) Schultz. She graduated from Melvin High School in Melvin, IA. While Bill was serving in Fort Hood, TX, Ardyce went to Texas and they were married on July 7, 1942. After Bill left for active duty, she moved back and lived with her parents. They resided in May City, IA after Bill's discharge from the military. They moved to Worthington, MN and started a laundry mat. They then moved to Round Lake, MN and later to Texas. Ardyce worked at Campbell Soup Co., Sather Candy Co., was a cook at Round Lake School, and helped with Kiwanis. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, baking, reading, and was an awesome cook. Ardyce died on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Owatonna Care Center in Owatonna, MN.
Ardyce is survived by four children, Rona (Roland) Moore of Owatonna, MN, Colleen (Robert) Oldefendt of Owatonna, MN, Vicki Bergjord of Sioux Falls, SD, and Billy (Karen) Winter of Spokane, WA; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and one sister, Lois Donnenwerth of May City, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Leola, granddaughter, Traci, and special friend, David Demmer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Harris, IA.
Visitation will be from 12-1 pm Monday at Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
