Donald Eugene Bruns
Donald Bruns, 82, Spencer, SD, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Dougherty Hospice in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Burial will be in the Kayser Cemetery, rural Emery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Hettinger-Bittner Funeral Chapel in Emery.
He was born October 25, 1930 to Herman and Gertrude (Marquart) Bruns in Spencer. He grew up and attended school in Spencer. He worked with his dad in the produce business until being drafted into the service during the Korean War. On February 20, 1955 he married Leatrice Burnham. Don owned Bruns Plumbing and Electric for numerous years and then was a full time mail carrier until retiring in January 1994. Don and Leatrice loved to travel and he was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Leatrice, Edgewood Vista, Sioux Falls; one daughter, Beth (Greg) Kayser, Emery; one sister, Marge Voight, Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brad, two sisters: Helen and Ona and brother, Darwin.
