Hildegard "Hilda" Ulrich

Hilda Ulrich passed away on October 5, 2016, at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford at the age of 98. Our beautiful Hilda is now reunited with her own mother, who she frequently said she longed for most and her father. Hilda was born June 22, 1918, to Richard and Emma Haeder in Yale, SD. She married George Ulrich August 27, 1939, They lived in Avon for over 20 years, running Ulrich's Medicine Chest. Hilda enjoyed playing the organ at the Zion Lutheran Church. She went to college at Southern State University in Springfield when Ken and Bette were in high school and received her teaching degree. George and Hilda then moved to Huron where she taught third grade for over 20 years.

Hilda was a vibrant, optimistic and upbeat lady who had a strong faith and was a dedicated, life-long follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith and her family were dearest to her. She had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed playing pinochle, bridge, going shopping, taking bus trips, fishing and going out to eat. We loved watching her enjoy her coconut shrimp and peach bellinis.

Hilda was always happy. She had the brightest sparkle in her eyes, and a heart full of love.
