Jon Hart Obituary
Jon Hart, Sioux Falls, SD, died on Saturday, June 6, 2015, surrounded by family and his beloved pet, Trixie, just as he wished.
Jon Kenneth Hart was born October 14, 1940, to Bret and Bertha Hart, in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Madison High School, SD in 1958. He is an accomplished writer and Poetry writer, and was recorded on SDPB. His recordings were broadcasted in Mozambique and republic of South Africa.
On October 24, 1993, Jon met the love of his life, Clara Saeni. The couple married on April 22, 1999. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls, where Jon continued to write science fiction and poetry. Jon was recently made an Honorary Mozambican. Throughout his life, Jon pursued intellectual and humanitarian paths. Jon was a member of the SD Democratic Party, SD Creative Writers, and the SD Futurists Society.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Clara Hart; step-daughters, Angela Saeni and Johanna Nyembe; granddaughter, Nadia Clarita Flemming; his beloved dog, Trixie Hart; son, Kenneth; daughter, Sheri Hart; sister, Marjorie Wiggins; and many nieces and nephews in the US, Canada, and Mozambique.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert; his parents; and siblings, Lourence, Bessie, and Jean.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00am Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls. Interment will be 2:00pm at Graceland Cemetery, Madison, SD. Visitation begins at noon, Wednesday, with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday evening at Miller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to SD Public Broadcasting to fund Jon's favorites - Science Friday and the Writer's Almanac.

I first met John at a writer's group some twenty years ago in Sioux Falls, and over the ensuing years crossed paths with him in that venue on occasion. Through that modest acquaintance I found him to be a fine person of strong character and know he contributed much to humanity. I was happy to come to know his dear wife Clara through him and offer my sincere condolences to her in his absence from this life.
