Luanne E. Olson Obituary
Luanne E. Olson

Luanne Olson, 82, of Sioux Falls, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, October 27th and was taken home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A Celebration of Luanne's life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 5th at 11:00 at New Day Church, 27365 472nd Ave, Harrisburg, SD. There will be a lunch to follow.

Luanne Elizabeth Olson, daughter of Harold Eggers and Leora Eggers, was born May 2, 1934 in Sioux Falls. Luanne devoted her life to her elementary school teaching career and her students. She was fondly remembered by many students and faculty long into her retirement with letters and invitations to their personal life events. When she retired from teaching at St. Mary's School in Sioux Falls, Luanne moved to Arizona to become a live-in caretaker for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease. Her patience, faith and love were an amazing comfort to the families she helped and all who knew her.

In 2005, Luanne retired as a caregiver and returned to Sioux Falls to be closer to her family. Luanne was an active member at New Day Church, where she devoted her time as an Adult Bible Study teacher, mentor, prayer warrior, counselor, and friend. She loved joining in with the Praise Band at church, clapping her hands and dancing. She was always smiling and had a wonderful sense of humor and quit wit. She was truly thankful for all the Lord had given her in this life.

Grateful for having shared Luanne's life are her daughters, Cathy Wegner (Bob Wilson) and Carol Anne Jackson, both of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Joshua Wegner (Candice Wegner) and Jessica Connolly (Brian Connolly) of Milwaukee, WI, Kelsey Sauers, Mankato, MN, and Tanner Sauers, Sioux Falls, SD; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Maddison, Katelyn, and Madison; one niece, 2 nephews, and her very special friend, her cousin Dean Bollinger.

Luanne is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leora Eggers; her sister, Helen Olson, and her grandson, Paul Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, Luanne would have liked a donation to her home church, New Day Church, 27365 472nd Ave, Harrisburg, SD 57032.
