Shirley Ann Widmann, 80, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 1 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Her family will be present to greet friends 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD.

Shirley Ahnberg was born September 3, 1936 in Volga, SD to Helmer and Ruby (Roso) Ahnberg. Her family moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1947. She graduated from Washington High School in 1954. After graduation, Shirley worked for Sioux Falls Wholesale for several years and then at GTA Feeds.

Shirley was united in marriage to Ronald Joseph Widmann on July 7, 1972. Ron died June 7, 1993.

Shirley was a kind, gentle and loving soul that saved many orphaned kittens. Her favorite cat, Tommie, stayed by her side to the end of her life. She enjoyed photography, cross stitching, crocheting, traveling, shopping and music, especially Elvis Presley. Shirley played drums as a member of the old-time music band, The Harmony Notes.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her close sister, Gloria Haensel, Sioux Falls, SD; nephews, Kent (Pam) Keenan, Sioux Falls, SD and Steve Keenan, Lake Asbury, FL; niece, Sherry (John) Pettey, Carthage, MO; and several great nieces and nephews.
