Vivienne O. Tatge

VIVIENNE ODESSA TATGE, age 99, of Beaver Creek, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. She was born January 30, 1914, in Luverne, to Harry L. and Vera (Adams) Tower. She graduated from Beaver Creek High School.

Vivienne married Wayne Tatge on December 31, 1935, at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Sioux Falls, SD. After their marriage, the couple lived in Beaver Creek where they owned & operated Wayne's Service. Wayne died on March 31, 1972. Vivienne moved to Luverne in May of 1975. She worked as a sales clerk at Creeger Clothing for over twenty three years. She also worked at the Rock County Community Library, the Sewing Basket and the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek; the Presbyterian Women; the Pink Ladies; and RSVP. She enjoyed knitting, baking, gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins and spending time with her family.

Vivienne is survived by her two sons, James (Elaine) Tatge, Sioux Falls, SD; and Rick (Lila) Tatge, Beaver Creek; two daughters, Susan (LeRoy) VandenBos, Sioux Falls, SD; and Bette Tatge, Maple Grove; six grandchildren, Alicia (Chris) Peterson, Tim (Ashley) Tatge, Michele (Scott) Jones, Chris (Vicki) VandenBos, Shannon (Melanie) Tatge & Jeff Tatge; nine great grandchildren, Will & Bennett Peterson, Taylor & Harrison Jones, Avery & Asher VandenBos, and Lauren, Riley & Nora Tatge; and a sister-in-law, Mildred (Tatge) Wearing, Oconomowoc, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; three brothers, Russell, Gale & Bob Tower; and four sisters, Mildred Melin, Virginia Keyman, NaRene Dunn & FloraLea Sylliaasen.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek. Burial will be in the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
