Lillian M. Wallenberg
The Guest Book is expired.
Lillian Margaret Wallenberg (DeCourcy), born May 7, 1926, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 27, 2014, at The Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Lillian leaves behind her dear husband of 67 years, Orland "Wally" Wallenberg of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by her sons: Brad (Karen) and their children Randi (Marty) Van Der Sloot (who are expecting Lillian and Wally's first great grandchild in February), Kelly Wallenberg (Denver), Jeff (Megan) Wallenberg (Denver), and Sara Wallenberg (Sioux Falls); Randy and his children Cari and Heather (both of Oklahoma City); and David (Liz) and their daughter Maddi (Silver Spring, MD).
Lillian was a homemaker who raised her three sons during the work week while Wally sold paper forms over a 4-state area. She also worked as a hairstylist and nursing home aide. She "raised" Wally on the weekends, too! Lillian loved to cook and was talented at the sewing machine and in knitting. Lillian was actively involved in her church, including teaching Sunday school and special events.
Lillian and her family are eternally grateful to the caring and professional nurses, aids, and other staff and doctors at the Good Samaritan Society Home on N. Minnesota Ave., in Sioux Falls, as well as the hospice nurses, Chaplin, and volunteers at AseraCare. They took such wonderful care of Lillian over the past year.
Lillian's transition from this life into the waiting hands of her Heavenly Father was peaceful.
