Nathaniel Elgin Stansmore Kittelson, age 20, of Sioux Falls, SD, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nate ("Gift from God") was born on March 20, 1992, in Sioux Falls, the son of Spencer and Sheila (Sogn) Kittelson. He attended Sioux Falls public schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2010, where he was actively involved in theater. Nate also served as a youth group leader at Hope Community Church.
After graduation Nate worked with his father as a software programmer, then moved to Davenport, IA where his work included serving as a production intern at Harvest Bible Chapel.
Nate was gifted in his ability to understand and work with technology. Whether it was computers, software, multi-media, sound systems, music mixing boards, etc., the technology has not been invented that Nate couldn't master. Many school and church productions benefited from Nate's generosity and expertise.
Throughout his battle with cancer Nate's focus never strayed from giving Glory to God. Readers are invited to visit Nate's Caring Bridge site caringbridge.org/visit/natekittelson for more information on his journey of faith.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents Spencer and Sheila of Sioux Falls; five siblings, Amos, Anna (Richard), Bessie (Derek), and Micah; grandparents Buell and Ruth Kittelson and Walter (Bev) Sogn; nieces and nephews Trever, Ella and Samuel; and many, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. Nate was preceded in death by his grandmother, June Sogn.
A celebration of Nate's former and new life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, at Church at the Gate, 6820 W. 26th St., Sioux Falls.
