Eric Greenfield, 61, Colome, SD, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2013 at his farm home south of Colome.
Eric Scott Greenfield was born on March 31, 1951 at Sioux Falls to Dr. Russell E. and Beverly (Walpole) Greenfield. Eric attended and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls and went on to University of South Dakota. After college, Eric operated a Taco Time, which later became a Dairy Queen that he and his father started. He moved to Colome in 2008.
Eric enjoyed the simple country life by hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a very loving and caring person. He loved to take care of his pets, especially his cats, and his special partner Kathy Jensen. His favorite saying was "I'm fine - you're fine - we're all fine."
Eric is survived by his special partner, Kathy Jensen, of Colome, SD; his mother, Beverly Greenfield, of Sioux Falls, SD; his children: Kourtney (Jeff) Olsen, of Omaha, NE, Scott (Nina) Greenfield, of Omaha, NE and Rikki Greenfield, of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Bailey, Luke, Jack and Alex Olsen, Ella Smith and Ella Greenfield and two sisters: Paige (Brian) Hamilton, of Denver, CO and Stacey Ferguson, of Castle Rock, CO. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Russell Greenfield.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Colome Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Father Andrzej Wyrostek officiating.
