Robert Danielson Obituary
Garretson-Robert "Bud" Danielson, age 85, of Garretson, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Palisade Healthcare Community in Garretson. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Garretson. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be from 3-5:00 PM Sunday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson.
Bud was born on November 3, 1927, in Garretson to Victor and Florence (De Rue) Danielson and, graduated from Garretson High School. On February 7, 1948, he married Rachel Edmundson in Garretson. Bud farmed west of Garretson for many years and also worked at the Sioux Falls Stockyards.
After becoming practically disabled, Bud worked part-time at Midway Service, and Sioux Falls Park and Recreation. In 2008, Bud and Rachel moved from the farm into Garretson. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson, and especially enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Rachel, Garretson; children: Michael (Linda) Danielson, Sioux Falls, Peggy (Jeff) Stoterau, Sioux Falls, and Tom Danielson, Garretson; grandchildren: Lance (Janet) Danielson, Kim (John) Massey, Jessie (Vonnie) Hariri, Austin (Jill) Danielson, and Andy Stoterau; great-grandchildren: Justin Danielson, Kyle Danielson, and Mac Massey; and sisters: Deloris Lamb, Riverside, CA, Beverly (Frank) Ames, Hot Springs Village, AR, and Annette (Harlow) Lundquist, Garretson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Herb Lamb.
