Larry G. Spicer

Larry Gene Spicer, 74, of Sioux Falls passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the South Dakota Achieve Hollister House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am with visitation one hour prior on Monday, December 30 at Canistota United Church in Canistota. Visitation will also be held from 11 am - 3 pm on Sunday TODAY at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem.

Larry Gene Spicer was born on October 13, 1939 in Canistota, SD to Dale and Fern (Lindbloom) Spicer. He grew up in Canistota and then in his early teens he began attending school at the Redfield State Hospital. On May 21, 1980, Larry became a resident of Sioux Vocational (now SD Achieve) and resided there until his death. Larry always enjoyed spending time with family and especially looked forward to being with them for special occasions and holidays. Larry's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hollister for the special care and love they have shown Larry over the years.

Larry is survived by: two sisters, Deanna (LeRoy) Olinger of Salem and Jackie (Gary) Spawn of Brandon; a sister-in-law, Barb Spicer of Canistota; and two aunts, Jerri (Bob) Gable of Gardnerville, NV and Maxine Eichman of Sioux Falls. He also leaves behind eleven nieces and nephews and their families and several cousins to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sharon Spicer, and one brother, Tom Spicer.
