www.isburgfuneralchapels.com Jack was born on October 6, 1941 at Marshall, MN, the son of Milton "Swede" and Marie (Pedersen) Fifield. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1959 and attended and graduated from South Dakota State University in 1965 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics.
Jack moved to Pierre, SD and began a career of public service, working for the State of South Dakota. He worked within the Department of Natural Resources, Industrial Development, and later was appointed as the Director of Conservation. While working in Pierre, he met his soul mate and was united in marriage to Marcy Dawn Audiss on November 17, 1979 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Pierre, SD. Jack made a career change, beginning work for Monsanto, and spent sixteen years with the company as a Field Representative. Even in retirement, Jack spent time as a Heartland crop adjuster and a Broker Associate with Reed Real Estate.
Jack was a modest, rational, quiet man with a dry sense of humor, but he was an extremely passionate individual. These passions included raising and racing horses, sports, hunting and fishing, and time spent with his life-long loyal friends. Jack loved following the local Pierre teams in EVERY sport. He was not limited to the Governors though, as often times he would drive several hours to watch other local teams in the "great game" on the schedule. He bled for Minnesota sports, avidly following the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, and Gophers. Mostly, he loved the outdoors, as all else took a backseat to his time in the great outdoors. He spent countless hours at DeGrey Blu Hills and later at his acreage outside the city of Fort Pierre. He loved the opportunity to share these special times with his wife, family and friends.
Although compelled by these affections, he found time to give back to the community through his involvement in the Jaycees, Pierre Masonic Lodge No. 0027, Order of Eastern Star, and the First United Methodist Church.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Swede and Marie Fifield; brothers: Jerry and Jim; and his beloved hunting dogs: Mandy and Punkin. Survivors include his wife, Marcy; sons: Jody (Sally) Brozik and Jon (Courtney) Brozik, all of Winner, SD; six grandchildren: Janine, Kayleb, Ellie, Maxton, Karlee and Kellen; sister, Jeany (Bob) Bagley of Arco, MN; aunt, Leone Pedersen, Marshall, MN; sister-in-law, Donna (Jon) Hughes of Winner, SD; and a host of nieces and nephews.
