Juta Kurm Warren of Humble passed away July 6, 2012 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Juta was born in Hoademeeste, Estonia on February 28, 1942. Juta and her parents fled Estonia in a freighter during World War II after the Soviets invaded, eventually settling in Gothenburg, Sweden. As a young adult, Juta moved to London, where she was employed for many years at Hughes Tool and met her future husband Hughlan Warren. Juta followed Hughlan to Plano, Texas in 1979. For many years Juta lived in the Humble area and was active in many things but especially in quilt-making, which she greatly enjoyed and participated in competitively with much success. She worked for many years at Hughes Tool in London and then for DuPont and Invista in Houston. She is preceded in death by her father, Evald Kurm, her husband, Hughlan Warren, and her son-in-law, Howard Gano. Juta is survived by her mother, Aada Kurm and her sister, Erika Gyzander and brother-in-law Peter Gyzander, all of Gothenburg. She also is survived by her stepchildren Terri Warren Reynolds of Dallas and Elizabeth Diane Gano of Red River, NM and her step-grandchildren Alexandra Reynolds, Nicholas Reynolds, and Montgomery Gano as well as many loving in-laws and friends, all of whom give special thanks to Evelyn Ferguson for her tender loving kindness to Juta in her final days. Juta?s bright and determined spirit will also remain in the hearts and memories of her many friends and associates. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18the @ 1:00 p.m. at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer, Kingwood, TX.
