Young Sr., daughters, Bailee A. Young and Jasmine Young, son, Vincent A. Born in New Orleans, she is survived by her partner, Anthony Futch, her sons, Curtis Lee (Heather) and Philip (Ronny), her granddaughters, Sarah and Tabitha, and her former husband, Curtis Lance. A private memorial service will be held in Atlanta. Donations may be given to the American Heart Association.

BEER, Daphne* - Atlanta  
BEER, Daphne Lynne 21 March 1964 - 5 May 2016 Daphne Lynne Beer passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her home in Johns Creek, GA. Daphne's love for her family, friends, and animals was paramount in her life, as was her untold support for worthy causes that benefitted those-in-need. Known for her creative branding skills in developing marketing strategies, web-based software tools, and an array of business plans, Daphne supported professional business clients in the United States and Europe. She will be sorely missed by her beloved daughter, Gabrielle, and by her loving husband, Mark Wallace. Her professional background included working on Capitol Hill, with a news agency, in academia as a professor, in the defense industry as a Contract Negotiator, and in the private sector as a Strategic Advisory Services Director, a Managing Partner, Director of Sales and Marketing, and a Director of Corporate Communications. She provided management consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and provided investment consulting services to public and private high-tech companies. She earned her B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.A. from American University in Washington, D.C. Daphne recently started law school, and in her spare time enjoyed painting and writing. Daphne was born March 21, 1964 in Norman, Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Gabrys, husband Mark Howard Wallace, father Neil Beer, mother Jan Forsythe, brother Reg Beer, sister Ashley Beer Venenga, brother Brenson Beer, loved ones Sue Geno, Bill Gleason, and Steve Gabrys, as well as countless other loving family members and friends whose lives she touched. Daphne devoted her life to her daughter Gabrielle who has battled juvenile rheumatoid arthritis since the age of two. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy should be addressed to Miss Gabrielle Gabrys, 8304 Saint Clair Dr., Atlanta, GA 30329. A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.

CHARTIER, Betty* - Smyrna  
CHARTIER, Betty Betty Chartier, age 86, of Smyrna went to Heaven on May 19, 2016, after a long illness. Betty was born in Savannah and spent her early years there, moving to Smyrna in 1970. She was employed with Sears as an Executive Secretary for many years prior to her retirement. Her late husband, Bill New, was Tommy Dorsey's brother-in-law and played saxophone in the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. They traveled to many social engagements where she enjoyed listening to big band music and dancing. Her other love was buying investment properties; over the years she owned multiple properties in Marietta, Atlanta, Decatur, Smyrna, Pooler, Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth New of Bloomingdale, Georgia. Special thanks to her caregivers Ida Hall, Lacey Gaines, Shirley Bonner, and Nanu Sungbeh. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Paran Church of God - Central, 2055 Mt. Paran Road, Atlanta, GA 30327 or to any Alzheimer's Association of your choice. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22 at Carmichael Funeral Home, 2950 King Street, Smyrna from 2 PM until 4 PM. Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 23 at Bonaventure Cemetery, 3330 Bonaventure Road, Savannah, Georgia at 2 PM with Reverend Tom Carruth officiating.
