Peggy Chamberlin Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

CHAMBERLIN, Peggy Peggy Payne Chamberlin passed away at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital on May 25, 2009. A long time resident of Peachtree City, GA, she was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Olive Branch, MS. The daughter of Byron and Marjorie McReynolds Payne, she was the oldest of three children and married James (Jim) Chamberlin in 1946. Peggy and Jim resided in Memphis, TN and Baltimore, MD before moving to East Point, GA in 1960 and both were active members of St. Johns Episcopal Church in College Park. Peggy and Jim enjoyed traveling widely and she was always ready for any adventure. Peggy was a loving, compassionate and generous person. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James; daughter Mary Chamberlin of Smyrna, GA; son Jim Jr. and his wife, Peggy Shaw Chamberlin, of St. Simons Is., GA; grandson Forrest Chamberlin, of Ft. Collins, CO; brother and sister-in-law Lawrence and Betty Payne; brother and sister-in-law James and Mary Ann Payne; sister-in-law Betty Chamberlin, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Peachtree City, GA at 11am on Saturday May 30th. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any remembrances be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of the SOUTH at Eagles Landing. 770-692-1181.
