Family-Placed Death Notice

Andrew Nils Agle, a global leader in health and development, died peacefully in his sleep of heart failure on Saturday, August 14, 2004 in Lagos, Nigeria at the age of 66. Mr. Agle's major contribution included Smallpox Eradication in Togo, Afganistan and Bangladesh; improved child survival in 13 African Countries; leadership at the Carter Center in Agriculture, Guineaworm Eradication and Onchocerchiasis; and most recently health development in Nigeria. Mr. Agle is survived by his children, Dawn Eidelman, David, Alex, Nick and Mark Agle; by his grandsons, Aron, Eliot and Joshua Eidelman; by his brothers, Roy L. and Larry Agle, and by his former wife of 27 years, Laura and his first wife Judith. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at 11 AM at Sandy Springs Chapel. Interment, Arlington Memorial Park. Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt.
