Family-Placed Death Notice

Our Loving and Ever Caring Mother, Ann Dorothy Augustine, 82, died November 22nd. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert, by her first child Mary, by her parents, John and Dorothy Toner of St. Augustine, Florida, and by her brothers and sisters: Dot, John, Patti, Walter, Jimmy, Eileen, Eugene, and Eddie. Ann was born March 13, 1923, the first of thirteen children. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from St. Mary of the Mount High School. She married her husband, Bob, on December 23, 1944, just prior to his deployment to the Pacific to participate in the naval campaign against Japan. Upon his return after the war, they resided in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Atlanta in 1953. Ann was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hapeville, where she served as Church and School secretary. In 1969 she moved to Muncie, Indiana, where she worked as a loan officer for Colonial Mortgage Company. Upon retirement in 1989, Bob and Ann relocated to Woodstock where she was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was a founding member of the Fifty-Plus Club and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Ann most of all enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Robert, Donna, Diane, Michael, Dana, and Denise: by daughters-in-law, Ellen and Marcia; by sons-in-law, Ronnie and Gerry; by her brothers and sisters: Jacqueline, Donald, Donna, and David; by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Justin, Corey, Robert, Elaine, Jeremy, and Erin; by her great grandchild, Jordan; and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, on Friday evening (November 25) from 7 PM to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Woodstock at 2 PM on Saturday, (November 26) with longtime family friend, Father Steven L. Yander, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ann's memory to St. John the Evangelist School, 240 Arnold Street, Hapeville, Georgia 30354. Woodstock Funeral Home, 770-926-3107.
