Arthur BENTON


Family-Placed Death Notice

BENTON, Arthur ARTHUR S. BENTON Arthur S. Benton passed away on February 19th. He had been dealing with prostate cancer for several years. He was born March 8, 1938 in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from North Fulton High School in 1956. He attended the University of Georgia on a diving scholarship and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Arthur was married 46 years to Linda Clark Benton. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Benton. He has a daughter, Ashley Benton and a son, Hadley Benton (Karen), grandchildren, Cash Weaver, Abby Benton, Claire Hadley Benton and Lindy Benton. He is also survived by sisters, Pamela Peltier, Gail Prescott, Sandra Pearce, and a brother, Don Benton. He was an avid golfer and member of the Ansley Golf Club. He collected and worked on antique cars. He was a tinker of toys. He loved being with his grandchildren. In 1972, he and Howard McCullough combined their companies to form McCullough and Benton. He retired in 1997. He then formed his own company once more, Midtown Technologies. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, February 25th at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta (visitation with family at 2:00 pm and service at 3:00 pm). A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers please donate to Winship Cancer Institute for Prostate Cancer research, 1365B Clifton Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30322.
