BARRETT, Benson C. REV. BENSON C. BARRETT Rev. Benson C. Barrett, 98, went to be with his Lord on October 22, 2013. A retired United Methodist Church Minister and United States Navy Chaplain with the rank of Commander, serving on a ship in the Pacific Theatre during WWII, active duty during Korean conflict and the Vietnam era. Her is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois Fay (Douglas) Barrett, Buford, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law Beryl & Dennis Erdal, Staunton, Va., Marsha & Perry Jakl, Buford, Ga.; sons and daughter-in-law Doug & Susan Barrett, Winston, Ga., John Barrett, Hiawassee, Ga., grandchildren Stephanie Erdal, Rhett Barrett, Katie and Jennifer Jakl, Eli and Cayla Barrett; great grandchild Allison Barrett; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26th, 2013, at The First United Methodist Church, with the family receiving friends previously from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at The Logan Funeral Home and Chapel in Ellijay, Ga. Military Honors will be observed at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion immediately after the funeral service. Donations may be made in memory of Rev.
