Clarence A. Baker II


Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Clarence A. Baker II, affectionately known as C.C., of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away January 31, 2005, at the age of 81. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1943 to April 1946 and was honorably discharged after being stationed at Ft. Dervens, Mass. and in Florence Italy. He was a veteran of WWII. After his military service he was employed at the U.S. Post Office in Jacksonville, Fla. where he worked for 20 years. He attended Florida State University where he received a Masters Degree in social work along with his wife. He retired as a civil service employee after 42 years and as a Clinical Social Worker, M.S.W. He leaves to cherish memories: sons, Ronald L. Baker (Gaddie), Shreveport, LA, Roderick P. Baker, Norcross, Michael R. Baker, Jonesboro and adopted son Thomas R. Hunter, Jonesboro; daughters, Patricia B. Sparrow, Jonesboro, Sharleen M. Baker, Jonesboro, Denise B. Potts (Gaines, Jr.), Union City, Deborah B. London, Woodstock, Bernadette A. Denmark, Lawrencveville, Sharon F. Baker, Fayetteville, Karon B. Allison (Keith), Hampton; sons-in-law, Gregory B. Denmark and Lionel T. London; sister, Blanche Smith; sister-in-law, Wilma Lauray; special friend Danny Edwards; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the World Changers Church International, College Park, GA, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Minister Carol Jones officiating. The family will receive friends TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Horis A. Ward-Tara Chapel, Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements. 770-471-7171.
