David Owens Obituary

Bill Owens took up the guitar at age 10, and it became a lifelong part of him. Self-taught, he started a band that played at sock hops at Dykes High School in Buckhead. As a Yale University graduate, he performed at nightspots in New Haven, Conn. Returning to Atlanta, he tried an advertising job but gave it up to work at clubs and hone his skill as a performer. With deepest sympathy to the Owens family during your time of grief...God is for you a refuge and strength, A help that is there to be found during difficult times...May God provide you with peace and comfort to endure the days ahead...(Psalm 62:8).

May the God who supplies all comfort support your family during this time of sorrow. We await the coming promise when "no resident will say I am sick." Isaiah 33.24

Elizabeth, this is such a special tribute that warms my heart. I can see and hear Bill singing on the gym floor and you leading cheers. I think talents like Bill's are the ones I value most, underlined by your long relationship and the family and friends reflected in the story. HIs life was too short, but the contributions to the rest of us spectacular.

Dear Elizabeth and Family,
We are so saddened at the loss of your wonderful husband and father and our dear friend. We got to know Bill along with Keenan Carter at Ziggy's and enjoyed many a fun evening dancing to their music and being entertained by their talent. We also learned that our paths were intertwined from years ago in Atlanta. Bill will be missed for his kindness, since of fun and great talent. Our thoughts and prayers are there for each of you. With much affection!
