Ira Bryan GILES Jr.

GILES, Jr., Bryan Vietnam war veteran Ira Bryan Giles, Jr. was born July 7, 1949 to Ira and Ruth Giles. Bryan grew up in Atlanta, Ga. and joined the Army in 1966. After Basic Training he volunteered for jump school. In Vietnam he was transferred from the 101st to the 173 Airborne Brigade, known as the "Sky Solders". Bryan also served in a LRRP, as part of a Ranger unit. Upon his honorable discharge, Bryan applied for, and graduated from, the Georgia State Police Academy. He joined the City of East Point police force, where he served for 22 years, working his way from Patrolman, to Sergeant and retired as a Lieutenant. Bryan was also a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. Bryan is survived by his daughter Brandy G. Rogers of Metter, Ga. and family, Ira Sr. and sister Claire Giles of Marietta, and brother Alan and wife Angela Giles of Atlanta and other family and friends. Bryan's memorial service will be July 7, 11:00 AM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga.
