Family-Placed Death Notice
McINTOSH, John JOHN WILLIAM McINTOSH John William McIntosh, 56, of Marietta, GA peacefully passed away after a short illness on Saturday, January 5, 2013. He leaves his beloved wife, Donna, two daughters, Kelly McIntosh and Cecily (Phil Crossley) Dennis, and one granddaughter - Posey Josephine. He also leaves behind two brothers, Tracy (Kesa) McIntosh, and James (Joy) Davis, Jr. and many close friends. Born in Marietta, he was the son of the late James W. (Bill) McIntosh and Elisabeth Ferguson McIntosh. He graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1974. After graduating form The Art Institute of Atlanta in 1994, John became an award winning freelance artist and designer. He volunteered for many charities and donated his art work. John was the painter and designer of the "Mankind" mural at Sprayberry High School, which was on display there for 15 years. He later worked with IBM as an Executive Creative Director, creating and designing websites for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, The PGA Tour, the Super Bowl XXXV, The Grammys and many, many more. He not only took pride in his gift, but also truly cherished his friends and family. He was a very sensitive man with a caring soul, often performing random acts of kindness for strangers as well as those he knew. A loving family man, John was always there when someone in his family needed him. He had a love for antiques and was an avid collector of antique trinkets. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm.
