FANCHER, Katherine KATHERINE RASBURY FANCHER Katherine Rasbury Fancher, age 76, of Atlanta passed away on April 7, 2013 of cancer. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Marie Rasbury. She was raised on a farm on the Buffalo River, between Hohenwald and Waynesboro, Tennessee with her four siblings, Jean Parsley of Oak Ridge, TN, Willodean (Sis) Weldon of Lusby, MD, Tommy Rasbury of Hohenwald, TN and Edward Rasbury (deceased). The farm provided the family with the best of memories and the children a great background. Katherine graduated from Wayne County High School, Tennessee Technological University (BS Accounting) and the University of Tennessee (MS Business Education). She married Harry Lynn Fancher of Chattanooga, Tennessee on November 27, 1959. In those early years of marriage, she provided Harry with the opportunity to attend law school at Vanderbilt University. After his graduation, he returned to the army as an attorney and Katherine spent a number of years as an army wife, living in several foreign countries and locations in the United States. She greatly enjoyed Army life and the opportunity to travel. Their last Army post brought them to Atlanta where they have lived for the last 36 years. She taught school from the third grade through high school and accounting at several different colleges. She moved from the classroom to the corporate world working as a technical writer and accountant for several different companies. Her last position before retirement was as head of accounts payable for Waffle House Corporate. Katherine and Harry have two children. Son Gary Fancher and his wife Bonnie Bloom Fancher live in Dallas, Georgia and daughter Lynn Fancher Clemmons and her husband Shane Clemmons live in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Among her greatest joys in life are her twin grandchildren, Katherine and James Clemmons, age 9. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at Chamblee First United Methodist Church, 4147 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, GA.
