HUGHES, Liz Liz Pulley Hughes, 72, of Winder lost her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord June 30, 2014. She was born in Jefferson City TN and with her family moved to Norcross in 1956. She graduated 3rd in her class from West Gwinnett High School in 1960. She is survived by her sons, Brett and Bart and daughter-in-law, Melissa; Grandsons, Charlie and Drew; brother, Elliott "Tiny" Pulley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hughes, parents Calvin and Beulah Pulley and a brother Donald Wayne Pulley. Liz had been a member of The Norcross Chapter #426 Order of the Eastern Star and she served as Worthy Grand Matron in 2004 -2005. As a teenager she was active in The International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She enjoyed participating in amateur theatre and later developed a "Minnie Pearl" routine and performed it for several years. She was a longtime member of Amaranth, Inc Theta Sorority, Daughters of the Nile, and seved as High Priestess of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Buford. Burial will be in H.G.
