Family-Placed Death Notice

CLAYTON, Madison MADISON CLAYTON Madison Thomas Clayton, of Duluth and formerly of Decatur, died October 30, 2013. Born in Miami, FL in 1926, Mr. Clayton proudly served in the United States Army in the European theatre during WWII. He retired after a long career in heating and air conditioning and sales. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn Merritt Clayton, also of Decatur. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Marilyn Barnett Clayton; daughter, Elaine Puckett (Richard) of Norcross and son Bill Clayton (Suzi) of Casselberry, FL, grandchildren, Mike Neal (Sandi), Alan Neal (Christy), Katie Bruner (Marshall), Jason Clayton (Andrea), Chris Clayton (Sylvia); stepchildren, Brenda Mallonee, Cindy Batten, David Barnett and Chuck Barnett; brothers, Jerry Clayton (Toni) and Richard Clayton (Geraldine); many great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, at Embry Hills United Methodist Church, 3304 Henderson Mill Rd, Atlanta. Family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial gifts may be sent to the church. A. S. Turner & Sons.
