Raymond DUBNER


Family-Placed Death Notice

DUBNER, Raymond Raymond M. Dubner was born October 7, 1925 in Jamaica, New York City, the second son of Bea and Lou. Educated in New York City public schools, he enlisted in the Army in World War II. He served overseas in Guam with Charlie Fine, a GI friend he acquired. The GI Bill funded Ray's college education at New York University where he studied accounting. In 1948 at a fraternity party he met 17-year-old Queens College freshman Frances Segall and they married on December 24, 1950. Their 62-year marriage was one of mutual love and respect and produced three children, Steven, Jerrold and Nancy, and four grandchildren, Allison and Madeline Dubner and Susannah and Daniel Teich. Ray was bright, kind and selfless. A consummate cook and constant learner, he unselfishly cared for others. After retirement, Ray and Fran traveled extensively, including trips to China, Russia and Australia. His life was a gift to our world. Ray died on August 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
