DUNCAN, Samuel SAMUEL AUBREY DUNCAN Samuel Aubrey Duncan, age 90, of Atlanta, GA passed away April 16, 2014 at Emory University Hospital Midtown. Mr. Duncan was born in Sandy Springs, January 25, 1924, to Maude Cecil Mabry and Christopher Early Duncan and was a graduate of North Fulton High School class of 1941. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and served as a Corporal in the 989th Field Artillery Battalion. He was presented a Service Award upon retiring after 32 years from the United States Postal Service. His hobbies included gardening, golf, crossword puzzles, scrabble and reading the Bible. He was a Braves baseball fan and enjoyed taking vacations with his daughters. He is survived by his former wife, Gloria Enge Duncan, his daughters Deborah Kelly; Penelope Duncan and her husband Mark Thompson. Mr. Duncan's grandson Gus Thompson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Rev. David Shivers will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
