Family-Placed Death Notice

PUTNAM, Truett Truett King Putnam Mr. Truett King Putnam, 86, of Fairburn, went home to be with his Lord on November 17, 2012 at Sunrise of Johns Creek Senior Living. Mr. Putnam attended Calhoun High School and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Truett was involved his entire life in Agri-business. He was an active member, deacon, and teacher at Bethlehem Baptist Church, a Gideons International Torchbearer, as well as a member of Farm Bureau, Cedar Grove Community Club, and Good Sams. Mr. Putnam was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Duane Putnam of Calhoun as well as by his sister Joy Putnam James of Salisbury, North Carolina. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise Miller Putnam of Fairburn; children, Carol Putnam Quigley and her husband Steve of Fairburn; Neil W. Putnam and his wife Pam of Johns Creek; Linda Putnam Frey and her husband Robert of Duluth; four grandchildren, as well as one great-grandson; brothers Blake Putnam of Calhoun and Lamar Putnam of Carrollton. The family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2012 from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home, 770-964-4800. A celebration of Mr. Putnam's life will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11 o'clock at Bethlehem Baptist Church with remains placed in state at 10 oíclock. Rev. Tim M. Rice officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
