CHANDLER, Virginia Mrs. Virginia West Chandler, age 90 of Atlanta, Georgia formerly of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the arms of her loving son, Jeffrey. Mrs. Chandler was born on July 5, 1923 in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Robert F. West and the late Minnie Adams West. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Chandler loved reading, arts & crafts, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, playing bingo, sharing jokes with her friends and most of all her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Mr. Lewis "Cat" Chandler on January 27, 2010; sister, Mrs. Adele Easterwood; and a brother, Mr. Doyle West. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Chandler (Pedro Ayestaran) of Atlanta; daughter, Jane C. Bouldin (Mark Bouldin) of Huntsville, AL; and two granddaughters, Katie Bouldin of Huntsville, AL and Carlie Bouldin of Mobile, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Chandler will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Stevie Waddell and Rev. Dr. Janice Hume officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mrs. Kathy Bizarth. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Diego Velasquez, Robert Godbee, Frank Weaver, Preston Yarbrough, Mike Flanagan and Charles (Butch) Young. Honorary escorts will be William Paschal and members of the Myrtle McKelvey Sunday School Class of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
