My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I attended Atlanta Law School in the mid '70's. Don Gettle was one of my professors.

I owe my education and legal career to my parents. I will always value my father's ethics and strong sense of right and wrong. He always rooted for the underdog. He took criminal cases in Fulton County and worked just as hard for the indigent client as for the paying client. He valued people for who and what they were and not for what they had or what they could buy. I thought I had more time with him. I wish that he was still with us. Although he may be "in a better place," the world is not. It is our great loss. With love, his daughter, Margaret.

Don Gettle was an inspiration to many students at ALS. He encouraged us to enter the profession in spite of the hardships we all faced. He meant much to many and I was greatful for his friendship.

The family of Blanche Wampler Patrick joins the family and friends of Donald Wampler Gettle in mourning his passing and sharing many fond memories of our beloved cousin. Among them, we particularly remember summer vacation days in Charlotte and the occasions on which he would play the guitar and sing grandmother Margaret T. Wampler's favorite songs, "Peace in the Valley" and "In the Garden." Beverly, who is visiting from Borden, IN., and I paused to sing those same songs just now in his memory.
