Family-Placed Death Notice

HOROWITZ, Doris Doris Horowitz, age 84, of Alpharetta, passed away on October 1, 2011. She is survived by her daughters: Jane and John Caine of Deale, MD; Joyce Waddington and Herman Weil of Alpharetta; and Debbi and Perry Davidson of Alpharetta. She has five wonderful grandchildren: Shannon, Lauren, John, Travis and Alyssa; a great granddaughter, Elise; and a niece, Michelle Kouki of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her identical twin, Marilyn Steinau, of blessed memory. Ms. Horowitz was born in Chattanooga, TN and spent most of her life there. She was very active in the Sisterhood and Activities Committee at her synagogue, Mizpah Congregation, in Chattanooga. In 2001, she moved to Atlanta to be close to her children. She loved playing Mah Jongg, gardening and reading. Family was most important to Ms. Horowitz and she loved her daughters and grandchildren dearly. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Somerby of Alpharetta Retirement Community for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Emanu-El, 1580 Spalding Drive, Atlanta, GA 30350. Sign online guest book at www.edressler.com. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 11:30 am at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Joseph Prass officiating.
