Marrying into Larry's family, I quickly observed that he was the force to be reckoned with. Satire, wit and words were his weapons but always with a twinkle in his eye and a soft spot in his heart. The youngest of 4 sons, Larry was born into the Silent Generation but with the influence of his Greatest Generation brothers, one who served during WWII, he was anything but quiet. The comedy and performance attributes of a baby of the family shown through. He was a special man and will be missed like a light going out.

Larry was a dear friend. I have so many memories of him from him walking down the aisle with a full cast on his leg, to football on the front lawn of our apartment complex when we lived in Mobile, to Trivial Pursuit games where he dominated to golf and tennis matches together. He was my cousin by marriage and I loved him dearly. He will be forever missed. RIP Lawrence Paul Hartney

Like Chip, Larry was my uncle and my godfather. We never had a conversatio that didn't include him making me laugh out loud. The Manhattan Beach Hartneys send their love and positive energy to Dottie and our Georgia family. peace

It is so sad that yet another of the wonderful Hartney brothers has left us. All of us in the Tom Hartney family are thinking loving thoughts for all of you in the Larry Hartney family. I will forever miss my Uncle Larry's smile and humor.
