TURNER, Robert W. "Bob" Robert W. "Bob" Turner of Brooks, died October 6, 2016. He was retired from Delta Airlines. He is survived by his wife, Rose Staten Turner; sons, Robert W. (Ivalyn) Turner, Jr., Greenville; Gary S. Turner, Thompson Station, TN; granddaughters, Jessica Turner, Skyler Turner, and Kayla (Andrew) Pollock; great granddaughter, Olivia Pollock; brothers, William M. (Joan) Turner, South Weber, Utah; C. O. Turner, III and Ray L. Turner, both of Memphis, TN. Mr. Turner was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until service. Interment at Brooks Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's charity of choice. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City.

Bob was a big help to me when I was Master of College Park Masonic in 1976.
He always mixed the fixings for the
hush puppies for our spring & fall fish fries and did so for many, many years. I sure hate to hear about his passing.

He was a good friend and a GREAT MAN!!

Rose and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I met Bob when I joined the Flying Griffins in the early 90's. He was a dear friend to me and all of the Flying Griffins. He was always there to help in all of our events or if we were just flying. He has always been dear to my heart and always will be, and all of the Flying Griffins too !!

Flying with Bob was an absolute pleasure! Bob was an excellent pilot and a down to earth guy all around. I flew co pilot with him on the L1011 domestic and international.
I always urged him to fly to Paris with me since he was hesitant about the language barrier, don't know if he ever did get there.
What a gentleman...and he loved visiting a batting cage every chance he could.

Rose, Bobby Jr. and Gary, We are so sorry for your loss. Bill and I so enjoyed Rose and Bobby visit and so very thankful we had the time together.
We have a lot of good times and Bill and Bob have some times they will never forget together as brothers.

Rose, we were so surprised and saddened to hear about Bob. We were out of town until today, Saturday, Oct 8th, and just heard. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will be making a donation in memory of Bob to St. Jude's.
