Sharon, we just heard of Sid's homecoming. Joe and I remember Sid fondly from the early days at Gulf to Lake Baptist. He always had a smile! Peace be with you.

Sharon and family, as you know Sid was a one of a kind guy, always a gentleman, fun loving and a friend to all he met. I never had a flight with him or Sharon that wasn't a true pleasure. I've told many people over the years that if there was one pilot I wanted to be like, it was Sid. My heart was broken when I read of his passing because I know the world is a little bit dimmer without his shining light.

I was saddened to hear of Sid's passing. I first met him as a S/O on the DC-8. He was flying copilot then and a pleasure to fly with. Over the years our paths crossed many times and he always had a smile an his face and chuckle in his voice. Maybe one day we will get to fly together again in the Great Beyond. I hope so.... Rest in peace my friend.

Sid was one of those guys whose name on a crew list brought a smile to your face, as you knew you were going to have a pleasant trip. He was one of those folks who made my career at Delta so meaningful. Highly competent, a good fellow, and a true professional all describe Sid.

On behalf of the Delta Golden Wings, we would like to offer our condolences to his entire family. As a member of DGW, Sid showed his devotion to the pilot fraternity even after his retirement. We will miss him.

My deepest sympathy to Sid's family. I never flew with him, but trained under and with him. Such a great and fun guy! I know he will be greatly missed. May he rest in eternal peace.

Just heard the sad news of Sid's passing from Delta Clipped Wings. He was a bright memory from flying DC9's together years ago! He was all smiles when "Sweet Thing" Sharon was around, her long pony tail swinging. You could be on a layover, and he'd be looking at his watch saying, "Well, Sweet Thing should've just landed in Cincinnati about now..." It was enjoyable to see a husband and wife like they were with each other - inspiring! On layovers, he invited everybody over to his room to hang out - he always brought a little cooler full of a whole spread of all kinds of snacks, and it was fun just to chill, munch and hang out. Sid was always smiling, and was so thoughtful of his crew and passengers. A real treasure! Our hearts go out to the family...!

Another one of Delta's greats flying West for his final check. It was always a pleasure (& fun) to fly with Sid (& of course Sharon was always there). Sharon...we hope you find solace and peace with the memories and your forever friends.
Sincerely, Jim Horan and Diane "Sam" Sampson (retired Delta F/A). Avon, Colorado

There aren't enough words to describe the joy of working with and being in Sid's company. I never laughed so hard and enjoyed flying so much. Truly one of a kind. Sharon, my love and prayers to you and the family. I think of the retirement party and it never fails to make me smile, especially the flight kit!! It is a blessing to know you both.

Sid was a first class citizen and a very fine pilot for Delta Air Lines, and I can attest to that as he was one of my favorite co-pilots on the DC-8. I bought a shotgun from him for my daughter, when she was 15 and she is still a very good shot today and (Let's say 35 years later)so I will not say how old she is!!
RIP my good friend Sid!

Sid was truly a fun loving and fine traveling companion. I was privileged to both fly with and train under him. He made the simulator experience "almost" fun. My thoughts and prayers are with Sid's family at this time.
