Will MORRISS Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

MORRISS, Will WILLIAM O. MORRISS William O. Morriss, 20, of Atlanta and Athens, Georgia, died 8 May 2013. He was born 2 October, 1992 in Atlanta to Charlie Morriss and Joan O'Brien. He attended high school at Dunwoody High School in Atlanta, GA, and Mt. Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, CA. He was a student at the University of Georgia, majoring in Business. Will played football in high school, and he enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He was naturally adventurous and loved to hunt with his uncle Rick. He caddied and drove the beer cart during the summers at Dunwoody Country Club and loved working there. He enthusiastically sought out new adventures and was game for anything. He wrote avidly about his passions, which included football and baseball and loud discussions with family and friends as they would watch the games together. Will is survived by his parents, Joan and Charlie, and his sisters, whom he loved very much, Lindsey and Meagan. He also leaves his paternal Grandparents George and Helen Morriss, and his maternal Grandmother Jean Robertson Beall. Will also leaves behind a large and loving family, all of whom will miss him. A memorial gathering will be held at the Dunwoody Country Club, 1600 Dunwoody Club Lane Atlanta, GA, 30350, at 11am Saturday, the eleventh of May. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: www.afsp.org A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.

Will and my daughter were classmates at Dunwoody, and she remembers him as the boy whose dry wit kept her moving forward during a difficult sophomore year.

I am so very sorry for your loss and wanted you to know of another life touched by your precious Will.

Will,
You meant more to me than you ever knew. You made me laugh and cheered me up, even if I was only eavesdropping in on your conversation, and making me laugh meant so much. You brightened my darkest days in high school while I struggled with my parents' divorce, abusive relationships, and trouble with friends. Your jokes and personality always put a smile on my face and I looked forward to the classes we shared to see what you would do or say next. Rest in peace and I hope that you are happy and fulfilled now; I wish I'd told you sooner what you meant to me.

From the first day I met him, I knew that Will was a very special young man. Working with with him at Dunwoody C.C. and watching him start his journey to becoming an adult was something I will always remember. Always smiling, always friendly, Will was one of the hardest working high school kids I've had the pleasure to know. I can't remember a day where he wasn't smiling. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends who also mourn this loss, for the world seems a bit dimmer.

Will worked for me at DCC, the hardest working young man I have ever been around. Funny, intelligent, a true Georgia Bulldawg fan and most importantly my friend. I will miss you dearly Will. My condolences and prayers to everyone.

Will was such an amazing young man; he was smart and kind and fun loving and SO handsome. I will miss him dreadfully and pray for strength for Joan, Meag, Lindsey, Jean, Charlie, Helen, George and all of the aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly and daily, as well as Buster, who will never understand why he doesn't see his Boy. We will honor him with our memories and never forget him.

Will was always so fun loving, sweet, kind and just an all around wonderful person. His big ole blue puppy dog eyes were just awesome. All he had to do is smile that sweet smile and blink those baby blues and he could just melt your heart. He will be missed by all. I am so sorry to all of the family for this tragic loss. You are and will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Will was a wonderful person who will be deeply missed. He as always happy to help, and a joy to be around. His big, beautiful eyes are the thing I will remember the most - I can remember even as a child he would look up at you with those big, blue eyes and of course he wrapped us all around his finger. He loved his mother, father and sisters deeply. He will be sorely missed - and left us way too soon. The family has my deepest condolences and will remain in my prayers. Will shall forever remain in my heart.
