Anthony THOMPSON Obituary
THOMPSON, Anthony A. "Tony" "Tony" Anthony A. Thompson- Heaven is never going to be the same since Tony Thompson got there on Friday, November 11, 2016. On his first date with Nancy, his wife of 33 years, he announced "you are going to be my wife and we are going to have a son named Rock Thompson, All American halfback for Notre Dame." He was on the money except for the fact that Rock is the K9 Deputy Sheriff for Lamar County. Tony couldn't be prouder of the man Rock is today. Tony Thompson was Tony Thompson never met a stranger, quick with a smile and funny response, and strived for Yard of the Month even though he never did a damn bit of yardwork. He loved being on lawn patrol to keep the leaves off his perfect grass. He also loved Auburn football (and Georgia Football when they were not playing Auburn), watching Andy Griffin (Ain't it a bute Pa?) and wrestling. His family could not for one second ever doubt how much he loved them; he never went to Kroger without bringing home flowers for Nancy and could tell some great stories about the adventures of a much younger Matt Thompson, Lynn Thompson Franks, Spencer Smith, Craig Turbeville and Steve Bajc. If you can attend his party on Thursday, November 17th at Arlington Memorial Park's Sunrise Chapel, 201 Mt Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA, please bring a funny Tony story to share. Now is not the time to stop laughing with him! In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the Tony Thompson Corvette Fund or the Fund for Men Who Wash Their Car EVERY WEEK. And raise a glass in his honor. We can still hear his booming voice saying "Any better and I couldn't stand it!"
