1945 - 2016 Obituary Condolences
JAMES, Barbara Anne Barbara Anne James, 71, of Jonesboro passed away in her sleep after a short illness at Northside Hospital Thursday afternoon. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Gardiner of Millsboro, Delaware. Mrs. James was the wife of the late Floyd R. James. Mrs. James is survived by her two children, Terri Brown of Columbia, South Carolina; and Ken Pack of Douglas, Georgia; step-daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Wiseman (Lisa) of Stockbridge, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Benjamin, and William; one great grandchild, Nathan; three step-grandchildren, Russell, James, and Amanda; five siblings, Ms. Linda Perryman of Linwood, Pennsylvania; Mr. and Mrs. David Brown (Kelly) of Claymont, Delaware; Ms. Diane Brock of Millsboro, Delaware; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gardiner (Nancy) of Landenberg, Pennsylvania; she is also survived by her brother in-law Mr. and Mrs. Bill James (Millie) of Watkinsville, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her youngest sister Shirley Brown. Mrs. James retired from Southern Regional Education Board after 30 years of service as an accountant / bookkeeper. Mrs. James loved to work in her garden and she loved the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs. She loved her Church, The Rock Presbyterian Church in Stockbridge, Georgia and her church family. Mrs. James loved her two dogs Dottie and Kody. She loved traveling to dog shows to show her dogs in confirmation. Above all Mrs. James loved spending time with her family and loved ones. Services will be held 2 pm Monday, November 7, 2016 at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge, Georgia with Rev. Ed Salter and Mr. Scott Sphnarr officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the funeral home from 12 to 2 pm.
