Barbara HARMON Obituary
HARMON, Barbara Barbara Glover Harmon, 85, of Conyers, GA, was born on July 4, 1931 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lt.C Merle Glover and Genevieve Dout Glover, a schoolteacher. Her mother and father, as well as her sister, MaryLynn G. Balthaser, husband, Carl W. Harmon, Jr., and a son, Tracy A. Harmon preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved son Carl Michael Harmon (Mike), daughter-in-law Jacqueline Harmon and grandson Matthew Harmon of Conyers, as well as daughter-in-law Anna Harmon and granddaughter Helena Harmon of Northern Virginia. She is also survived by extended family in and around Augusta, MI. Mrs. Harmon was a beloved mother, faithful daughter and wife, and loyal friend to animals and people. She was a long-time member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Arlington, VA and attended First United Methodist Church in Conyers, GA. Upon graduation from Washington School for Secretaries, she began a 50+ year career as an executive assistant in the military, legal and taxation fields. She enjoyed caring for her family and friends, and was an excellent cook and prepared a gracious and plentiful table for all who came. She enjoyed going to the beach, as well as spending time in the mountains during the spring and fall. The Memorial Service for Mrs. Harmon will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, GA 30012. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Dr. Jacqui Rose-Tucker will officiate the ecumenical service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara G. Harmon to the following organizations whose work she supported and encouraged.
