SANDERS, Billy Billy Gene Sanders, age 63 of Atlanta, GA, beloved husband of Gladys Jang Sanders, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Billy was born on October 10, 1949 in Villa Rica, GA to Garland and Lorine Gladden Sanders of Tallapoosa, GA. He attended Tallapoosa schools and was a member of the last graduating class of Tallapoosa High School in 1968. He was a member of the football, basketball and track teams and was Co-Captain of the football team his Senior year. He also hit a last second shot his Senior year to win a basketball game that propelled the Tallapoosa Red Devils into the State Tournament for the first time in school history. He attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA and then began a career with Owens Corning, as Operations Manager. He retired in April, 2013, with 40 years of service. Billy was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA. Billy was full of life and lived life to its fullest. He was an avid sports fan and loyal Georgia Tech supporter. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in Georgia, Montana and Wyoming. He gave many their first hunting and/or fishing experiences, and took great joy in teaching everyone. He loved his family dearly and always put his family first. He was so loved by all those he encountered. He traveled the world, including gondolas in Italy, salmon fishing and skiing in Canada, the wine country in California, and states New Jersey through Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Garland and Lorine Sanders; infant sister; brother, Greely Gentry; and niece, Angela Sanders. Billy Sanders is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Sanders of Atlanta, his daughters and spouses, Kristina and John Lomant of Dallas, GA; Stephanie and Ryan Cone of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughters and spouses, Tressa and Chris Cash of Acworth, GA; Page and Gary Zelasko of Dana Point, CA; Andrea and Mark Shelton of Los Gatos, CA; treasured grandchildren, Braeden and Avery Lomant; Aubrey Cone; Lee, Jesse and Blake Cash; Bethany, Areli and Israel Zelasko; Drew, Gabrielle, and Ava Shelton; stepmother, Versie Sanders of Bremen, GA; twin brother and wife, Bobby and Carole Sanders of Carrollton, GA; sister, Brenda Suit of Villa Rica, GA; brother and wife, Mike and Susan Sanders of Carrollton, GA; sisters and husbands, Carolyn and Paul Nall of Dallas, GA; and Kathy and Jarrell Hatchett of Bremen, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service with visitation afterwards for family and friends will be held at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA on Saturday, July 6th, 2013 at 1:00PM.
