Family-Placed Death Notice

RAY, Brian BRIAN RAY Brian Ray, age 33 died unexpectedly on December 8, 2012. Brian attended Columbus State University. He later began working in the HVAC industry rising from apprentice to certified technician. He was most recently employed by Johnstone Supply in Atlanta where he excelled at his job. Brian is survived by his wife, Marissa Anne Ray, daughter, Julia Elizabeth Ray, mother, Theresa Duncan Williams, father, Robert Clayton Ray, sister Erica Nicole Osborn, young niece Elyssa Faye Osborn and grandmother Billie Sue Duncan along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends. Brian was predeceased by his step-father, Steven Edward Williams, grandfather, Otis Lee Duncan, grandmother Cleta Faye Thomas, grandfather, Albert Henry Ray. As a family, Brian, Marissa and Julia spent many happy times traveling and enjoying the outdoors. These special memories will be cherished for a lifetime. Brian's passion for all things mechanical began when he was a young boy. Having been raised in a single parent home he became the "man of the house." He was always available to help a family member, friends and neighbors with a heating or air conditioning problem. His penchant for installations and repairs became his calling card in the community. All who knew him knew that he had a skill for "fixing" most any problem - all with a smile. Brian was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer - activities that he enjoyed with his family and friends throughout his life. His mother will remember their last game of golf where he scored an Eagle - and told his mom, "you're doing pretty good yourself." These times and other family occasions will be sorely missed without Brian's presence. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Carmichael Funeral Home, 2950 King Street, S.E., Smyrna, GA, 770-435-4467.
