Obituary Condolences

Family-Placed Death Notice

Cynda Lou Albaugh, age 56, of Atlanta, GA passed away July 22nd, 2007. Cynda was born and raised in Lansing, MI; however, with a father in the U.S Air Force, Cynda moved around extensively as a child, living in places such as Tripoli, Libya, Las Vegas, and California. Cynda attended Mt. Vernon High School in the Washington D.C. area, and went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a degree in education. Cynda is remembered by her early students as a teacher, who transformed forever the lives of underprivileged children in Shreveport, LA. Her husband remembers Cynda the wife and Cynda the world traveler, who brought continued support and adventure to their lives together. Her children remember Cynda the mother, whose undying love and affection nurtured them to grow and flourish. Her schoolmates remember Cynda the friend, whose laughter brought joy to the hearts of many. And even those who Cynda barely knew remember Cynda, the servant, whose life was a tireless example of always placing others before oneself. Cynda was preceded in death by her parents Betty Lou Van Sickle and Colonel Philip H. Van Sickle. She is survived by her two children, Ryan Albaugh and Ana Albaugh, her husband William Albaugh, her brothers Kirk Van Sickle and Mark Van Sickle, and her grandmother Bertha Harris. Memorial services will be Friday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Rd., NW. Following the service, there will be an interment of ashes lead by the Reverend Todd Smelser. Visitation will be held at the church in the Gould Room at 1:00 p.m. prior to the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Atlanta Humane Society. Arrangements by H.M.
