Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Elizabeth Courtney Minor, age 34, of 785 Highway 27 East, Americus, passed away early Thursday morning, December 30, 2004, in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services are planned for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2005 from St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Father Lawrence LuCree & Father Clif Marquis will officiate. Active Pallbearers will include Jim Minor, Bill Minor, John Minor, Richard Minor, Ralph Thompson, and Scott Thompson. Born in Hollywood, Florida, on June 4, 1970, Mrs. Minor was reared in Atlanta. She was a homemaker and a preschool teacher who loved all children. Mrs. Minor was an artist, and she loved tennis and the outdoors. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter, and was a faithful friend. Mrs. Minor was a member of the Junior Service League of Americus, and a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Valdosta State. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Michael Minor of Americus; three daughters, Kelsey Elizabeth Minor, Ashley Rebecca Minor, and Natalie Laura Minor, all of Americus; two sons, Matthew Joseph Minor and Michael Gabriel Minor, both of Americus; her mother, Janet Thompson of Atlanta; her father and step-mother, Ralph and Elizabeth Thompson of Springfield, VA; parents-in-law, James and Mary Minor of Americus; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph Thompson, Jr. and Patti Thompson, and Scott Thompson, all of Atlanta; her aunt, Joan Henry, and cousin Robert Henry, both of Hollywood, FL; a half-brother, David Thompson, and a half-sister Amanda Thompson, both of Springfield, VA; twelve brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and thirteen nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter County, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, GA, 31709. The family will receive friends at Hancock Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday evening, December 31, 2004. Hancock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
