Gail TATE Obituary
TATE, Gail Martin Gail Martin Tate, age 75 of Marietta, GA, died in Christ on October 16, 2016. Gail was born in Forsyth County, GA on June 30, 1941 to Opal and Willard Martin. She was a big sister to brother, Harris. Her parents raised her to love her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, a love she went on to instill in her own children. She moved to Atlanta after graduating from high school in 1959 and began working at Coastal States Insurance Company. She moved to Marietta in 1965 where she raised her family and remained until her passing. Gail loved music, especially Elvis' and old gospel, her granddaughters, country cooking and her church, Labelle Heights Baptist Church. She adored her Mother and spent many years caring for her until her passing in 2007. She loved doing whatever little bit she could for a number of charities. Despite the tough challenges that she endured battling cancer for nearly 3 years, she cared very much about what was happening in our country and in our world and didn't hesitate to tell you exactly what she thought. She was dearly loved by so many people and will most certainly be missed. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Tom Amon of Dunwoody, GA, her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Aimee Tate, and granddaughters Rachel and Rylee of Acworth, GA and her brother, sister-in-law and nephew, Harris, Mary and Scott Martin of Alpharetta, GA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of her favorite charities: Samaritan's Purse, Wounded Warriors, or World Vision. Visitation will be at Mayes Ward-Dobbins funeral home in Powder Springs on Saturday, October 22nd between the hours of 3pm and 5pm followed immediately by the funeral service at 5pm. A private burial with family will follow at Concord Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home - Powder Springs Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 770-943-1511.
