Family-Placed Death Notice
EIDSON, Irene Irene Eidson passed peacefully from us the morning of October 22, 2013, after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Irene was born and raised in Patterson, NJ. She joined the Waves following Pearl Harbor. She has been in Atlanta since 1946 when she married Norman following the end of WW II. After raising her five children and working 40+ years as a part-time regular at Rich's/Macy's Irene retired in 2000 to spend more time with family. Irene is survived by four children (and spouses): Norene Quinn (Jerome), Tom Eidson, Mary Ann Hall (Walter) and Steve Eidson (Susan), youngest daughter Teresa passed in 2012; seven grandchildren: Scott Foerst, Stephanie Haasenritter, Daniel Hall, Anna Gilmore, Michael Hall, Chelsea Eidson and Brooke Eidson; and eight great grandchildren: Katrina and Justin McKinnon, Emma Haasenritter, Fiona and Sienna Foerst, Aiden Hall, Brendon and Makayla Gilmore. Irene is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Kerr. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, brothers John, Steve, and Joe, sisters Mary and Ann, and granddaughter Sharon Foerst. Saturday, October 26th from 1:00 - 3:00, a memorial service to celebrate Irene's life will be held at the Southcare Chapel, 595 Franklin Road SE, Marietta, Georgia 30067; Telephone: 770-420-5557 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Briarlake Baptist Church, earmarked for the Special Needs Choir, "This Little Light of Mine", 3715 Lavista Road, Decatur, Ga, 30033, as Irene's daughter Teresa was an enthusiastic choir member there.
